Nations Dance Theater Inc., was founded by Vaughnda Hilton. The
company is Native owned and is based Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
USA. Native Nations Dance Theater focuses on education and
theatrical performances based on American Indian heritage and
culture. They present a program from a diverse range of Native
American Nations.
Under the Artistic Direction of Vaughnda Hilton (Nation(s): Blackfeet / Seminole / Creek) and the leadership of Chairman Delwin Fiddler Jr. (Nation: Lakota) Native Nations Dance Theater has toured and performed extensively across the USA and in 2006 toured England.
Native Nations Dance Theater is a professional touring dance company with expertise in educational presentations for children, youth and teaching staff, theatrical productions for the stage, conference presentations, ceremonial openings, and workshops with museums, schools, colleges and community based organizations. It is the mission of Native Nations Dance Theater to present authentic American Indian programs to audiences and institutions of learning in the United States of America and Worldwide.
A core group will travel to your country, school or organization and present an educational program of your choice which can include: a Powwow dance and performance program. Native Nations Dance Theater offers a two to four week Artists in Residency program, discussion groups and lectures/seminars, traditional Native American Craft demonstrations and hands on workshops, Traditional dance workshops and demonstrations, as well as demonstrations and workshops in singing and Native American flute playing.
Programs are flexible and dependent on your needs. Native Nations Dance Theater performers can perform in the classroom or in the theater/auditorium. The programs are also suitable for all ages of various educational levels and can be performed indoors or outdoors.
